LASH EYELAND - D.Studio Partner in New York

"The American Dream" is a phrase that someone who has a thing for American Culture often talks about, including me.

However, the person that I'm going to talk about today is not exactly someone who is living "The American Dream," as she is a Korean-American,

having moved to the States at a young age, but someone who is tirelessly working to achieve her goals, her American Dream.

It is difficult to imagine what she has been through in the crowded city of Manhattan, New York, lost in translation and alone with no one to guide her.

Yet, she has established a name and reputation for herself through perseverance and hard work.

Perhaps things would have been easier, had she settled in California, where it is densely populated with Asians, but she chose NYC...and has made the City work for her.  Meet Annie Kim.

The chief director of EYEDROW newest D.Studio partner - LASH EYELAND.

For those who might not know, Midtown Manhattan, or Midtown, represents the central lengthwise portion of the borough and island of Manhattan in New York City. Midtown is home to some of the city's most iconic buildings, including the Empire State Building, the Chrysler Building, and the headquarters of the United Nations, and it contains world-renowned commercial zones such as Rockefeller Center, Broadway, and Times Square. Along Manhattan's north-south long axis, Midtown Manhattan separates Lower Manhattan from Upper Manhattan.
Midtown Manhattan is the largest central business district in the world and ranks among the most expensive and intensely used pieces of real estate in the world, and Fifth Avenue in Midtown Manhattan commands the world's highest retail rents, at US$3,000 per square foot ($32,000/m2) in 2017. While Lower Manhattan is the main financial center, Midtown is the country's largest commercial, entertainment, and media center; Midtown Manhattan is also a growing financial center, second in importance in the United States only to Lower Manhattan's Financial District.
And Annie’s’ studio – LASH EYELAND in located in here.

It’s a shame that I can’t go there and take a picture of my own.
But technology nowadays is possible to take a peek at the street where LASH EYELAND at.
It does look like an old-day New York downtown street.
Looks noisy and with a thick atmosphere of history.
Courage, skill and of course, money are all essential
the reason of the one who has gotten somewhere in this town.

So who is Annie Kim? What’s her story?

Real American style, ain’t she? Hip-hop? Reggae? LOL, I’ve no idea^^
At 2000, Annie’s got in Bloomingdale’s as a makeup artist,
With an unstopping passion towards beauty industry, during the 10 years of working in Bloomingdale’s,

she learned eyelash extension and micro-blading technique. At the year of 2014, she opened her own brand – LASH EYELAND,

which main business is eyelash extension and microblading service.

 “Enthusiastic”, “straightforward”, “earnest”
Was the first impression that Annie gave me.

First time (Also the last time till now) that I met Annie was during the One-Day seminar that held in EYEDROW Headquarter.
She registered the One-day gradation technique seminar during the time she was visiting Korea.
I think either of us wouldn’t imagine that we would come this far.
Annie can be called an “energetic attendee” course of her reaction during the seminar.
Asked lots of question, and shared a lot of options.
Since the formal standards of micro pigmentation between US and Korea are different,
Annie shared lots of useful know-hows that could not be experienced outside of US.
I think, not only me, all of the attendees have learned from her and leave a real good expression about her,

beside the real-American style that she put on.

After the seminar, Annie stayed and have a 2-hours long meeting with my boss – EYEDROW int. CEO Choi Yoonsuk.
After hearing the brand concept of EYEDROW, EYEDROW own line of pigment – FLESH COLOR and the German brand pigment Countur Color.
Annie purchase few samples for test, which make sense, how can you whether a pigment is good or not without test it by your own hand?
BTW. That’s why I learned where Annie’s shop at,
Oh.. Manhattan,.. huh.… Manhattan-Manhattan?

After 3-months, and lots of emails and texts
Annie felt highly satisfied with the result that comes from our pigment.
And sent back with lots of feedbacks of how our pigments showed on her foreign customers(For her is “local Customer” I guess)

Since the skin tone, hair color of western customers is different from Asian ones.
So the pigment usage should be adjusted.
Thanks to Annie, we gained lots of information after she shared her know-hows with us.

After 2 orders from us during this 3 months
EYEDROW Int. finally set up the partnership with Annie Kim’s own brand permanent makeup studio – LASH EYELAND.
Which is also EYEDROW’s first North America partner.

We are deeply honored to have a partner like Ms. Annie Kim
Who’s passionate, enthusiastic, hardworking and honest(Also, her fascinate personal style)
